72 percent of applicants to the University of Mary Washington were admitted for fall 2018

At the University of Mary Washington, 90 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 64 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Fredericksburg enrolled 4,727 students in fall 2018, including 4,410 in undergraduate and 317 in graduate programs, data shows. 7.4 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

89 percent of undergraduates are residents of Virginia, and 10 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (68 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (10 percent).

The school admitted 72 percent of the 5,909 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 22 percent enrolled.
