Fredericksburg Police Arrest Wanted Person for Eluding

Last night just after 9:00 p.m., Officer Murphy was on patrol in Central Park when he saw a vehicle traveling south on Plank Road that was missing a license plate. Officer Murphy activated his emergency equipment signaling to the driver to pull over. The driver ignored the commands and accelerated to 80 mph in a posted 35 mph zone. The driver turned south onto Emancipation Highway. Officer Murphy located the vehicle with its lights off at the intersection of Emancipation Highway and Beverly Lane. Upon exiting his patrol vehicle and approaching the suspect’s car, the suspect drove away at high speed on Emancipation Highway towards Spotsylvania County. The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office was notified to look for the suspect vehicle, which they quickly located traveling at an excessive speed on Harrison Road. After various attempts to get away, the suspect turned onto a gravel road off Harrison Road and fled his vehicle on foot. Officer Murphy and Spotsylvania County deputies responded to the area and utilized a Spotsylvania K-9 to perform a track that located the suspect lying in the woods.

The suspect was identified as Glenn Russel Hall Jr., 57, of Triangle, who had an outstanding warrant with our agency. Hall was charged with the following:

• Failure to display two license plates

• Reckless driving

• Driving on a revoked license

• Eluding law enforcement

• Obstruction of justice

He remains incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
