September is National Preparedness Month
It is important to remember that during disasters, resources are strained during the response phase, and you should be prepared to be self-sufficient for up to 72 hours. Checking on your neighbors and helping one another during these initial phases is also essential. As we enter the holiday weekend that is celebrated with neighborhood cookouts, take the time to invite your neighbors over, get to know them, and discuss Emergency Preparedness with them. Keep an eye on our websites and Social Media Pages this month for Preparedness Information, and remember to check out the Ready.Gov website for additional information on how you can prepare for different emergencies and this year’s National Preparedness Month: https://www.ready.gov/september#theme
