The Fredericksburg Police Department is diligently investigating the fatal shooting that occurred yesterday, March 26th, 2023. 

  The Fredericksburg Police Department is diligently investigating the fatal shooting that occurred yesterday, March 26th, 2023. At 2:56 p.m., the Fredericksburg E-911 Center received a call for shots fired in the 400 block of Chadwick Court. Patrol officers arrived at 2:59 p.m. to discover a male unresponsive, lying in a parking space with multiple gunshot wounds. Patrol officers performed CPR and provided life-saving measures until EMS arrived and transported the victim to a nearby hospital. 

     Police confirmed the victim is Jasiah Smith, 18, of Fredericksburg. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital. Jasiah's next of kin was notified yesterday afternoon.
