DUI Crash
Unfortunately, another drunk driver was on a Stafford roadway and caused an auto accident midday Sunday.
On January 8th, at approximately 11:06 a.m. Deputy M.E. Gordon responded to the intersection of Centreport Parkway and Mountain View Road for a report of an auto accident. Witnesses advised a black Audi was flying around the corner and caused a head-on collision. When Deputy Gordon arrived on scene, she observed the aftermath of a rather serious collision. Luckily, there were only minor injuries.
The striking vehicle’s driver had extremely red, glassy eyes, was very unsteady on his feet and had the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. The 21-year-old Audi driver advised it was the van driver’s fault despite what witnesses saw and the multiple cans of Michelob Ultra located on his driver’s side floor board. The Audi driver was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content between .15 and .20 and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1,000 secured bond.
We cannot stress enough the importance of drive sober or get pulled over. Incidents like this can be avoided by a simple, yet smart choice.
