BOARD OF SUPERVISORS EXTENDS DEADLINE TO PAY SECOND HALF REAL ESTATE AND PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES WITHOUT PENALTY OR INTEREST THROUGH DECEMBER 20, 2022

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS EXTENDS DEADLINE TO PAY SECOND HALF REAL ESTATE AND PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES WITHOUT PENALTY OR INTEREST THROUGH DECEMBER 20, 2022

At its November 10, 2022 meeting, the Caroline County Board of Supervisors adopted an emergency ordinance to extend the date to pay second half real estate and personal property taxes without penalty or interest through December 20, 2022. Following this date, normal penalties and interest will be charged for late payments.

The Treasurer’s Office was delayed in mailing second half real estate and personal property tax bills to taxpayers due in large part to printing company delays caused by machine malfunctions and staffing shortages. As a result of these issues, bills were not mailed to taxpayers until November 16, 2022. The payment extension approved by the Board of Supervisors is in response to the delay and the inconvenience caused to taxpayers.

Taxpayers with questions about second half real estate and personal property tax payments should contact Treasurer Elizabeth Curran by email at treasurer@co.caroline.va.us or by phone at 804-633-5291.
