On Friday, November 4th, at approximately 5:20 p.m., the Fredericksburg Police E-911 Center received a tip that a person wanted on outstanding warrants from the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office was sitting in a vehicle in the 2500 block of Cowan Boulevard. The person was Xander Salyers, 19, of Fredericksburg. Patrol Officer McCoy responded, located the truck, and confirmed the person inside it was Xander. As Officer McCoy approached the vehicle, Salyers vacated the truck and fled on foot. After a lengthy foot pursuit, Officer McCoy apprehended Salyers and took him into police custody. Salyers was served the Stafford County warrant and charged by Officer McCoy with the following:
• Obstruction and resisting arrest
• Possession of marijuana under the age of 21
