At the July Board of Education meeting, Brian Curtis was named assistant principal at Federalsburg Elementary School. Mr. Curtis is currently a Special Education teacher at North Caroline High School, and has been in education as a teacher and administrator since 2002. He has a BS in Special Education from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and earned his M.Ed. in School Leadership Administration from Wilmington College.
Also at the July meeting, the Board welcomed Barbara Short who was representing the Caroline County Retired School Personnel Association. On their behalf, she provided a check for $1000 which represents a donation of $100 to each school for their use in any way that supports the staff and students. Dr. Simmons said they were grateful to be accepting such a generous donation, and looked forward to working with the association in the coming year.
