Stafford County Sheriff's Office issued the following announcement on March 10
Our crime fail this week is a double whammy- a resident defrauded a cab driver, and the cab driver turned out to be wanted.
On March 9th at 12:24 a.m. Sergeant J.A. Mangan III and Deputy C.J. Richardson responded to Cliff Circle for a disturbance. A cab driver reported he brought Jonathan Velasquez Sanchez, 35, to the residence, but did not get paid. The investigation revealed Velasquez Sanchez thought he had money in the home, but unfortunately could not come up with the $50 fare.
The cab driver was identified as Keith Goines, Jr., 41, of Fredericksburg. A check of his information revealed an active warrant in Fredericksburg for a probation violation.
Both Velasquez Sanchez and Goines got a free ride in the gold star taxi to the Rappahannock Regional Jail. Goines was held without bond while Velasquez Sanchez received a $1,000 bond.
