Virginia Department of Transportation issued the following announcement on Jan. 30
If you must travel tonight, plan to drive with extreme caution, as temperatures remain below freezing and slick travel surfaces are possible.
In the Northern Neck, VDOT crews continue work tonight, and will continue work tomorrow, to reduce snow drifting and blowing across primary roads. Many primary roads in Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula remain in minor condition tonight, with isolated patches of snow and ice.
VDOT crews will apply treatment materials to roads overnight to reduce icing and provide additional traction.
