Fredericksburg Police Department issued the following announcement on Jan. 13
The Fredericksburg Police Department is hosting its annual Gun Giveback event Saturday, January 29th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Police Headquarters. Sponsored by our agency and the Fredericksburg Sheriff's Office, the Gun Giveback event allows gun owners to voluntarily turn in unwanted firearms for proper and safe disposal. Over 180 firearms have been voluntarily surrendered since the inception of this program. Gun owners can be confident their unwanted firearms never end up in the hands of criminals or children or be used in a crime.
