HIGHLIGHTS & ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Facade Improvement Program; The EDA has helped multiple Main Street businesses with its Facade Improvement Grant, reimbursing business owners for 50% of the final costs of approved improvements up to $2,500.

In 2021, commercial properties in Bowling Green boast approximately 80% occupancy.

The EDA offset hardships resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic by successfully distributing grant funding to 25 of its small businesses through the CARES Act.

The EDA expended CARES Act funds and installed HVAC filtration systems in approximately 70% of small businesses to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and to increase foot traffic to merchants in town by offering a sense of comfort for patrons.

Collaboration with the Virginia Film Office to secure Bowling Green's spot on the VFO Preferred Location list.  Check out the story of Richard and Mildred Loving on Netflix ("Loving") and Hulu's latest blockbuster series "Dopesick".
