45

GasBuddy issued the following announcement on Nov. 2

We’ve all seen it – a viral tweet of a station charging upwards of $6, $7, $8 for a gallon of gas. While this can be a little unsettling, it’s no reason to panic. Most of the time, stations with prices like these are one out of many in a town or city. And, they tend to pop up in high traffic, touristy areas where motorists aren’t able or willing to shop around. The best way to make sure you’re getting the best deal possible? Keep reading.

WITH THE GASBUDDY APP, YOU’LL NEVER PAY MORE THAN YOU HAVE TO

Shopping around for fuel is the BEST way to stay informed and avoid falling victim to overpriced gas. Download the free Gasbuddy app to quickly, easily and conveniently see all the stations in your area so you can compare prices and decide what’s best for you.

CHECK YOUR PRICE SPREAD

The price spread in your area can tell you a lot about whether the price you pay is good or not. The spread compares the lowest and highest priced stations in the area, so you can look for stations more toward the left, than the right. Sometimes it can differ by more than $1/gal!

SEARCH ALONG YOUR ROUTE

Traveling out of town and need gas? Waiting until the next city or driving across state lines before you fill up could save you a lot of money. Search stations along your route in the GasBuddy app to make sure you don’t miss a great deal on your trip.

WHEN IN DOUBT, PAY WITH GASBUDDY

No matter where you live or where you’re headed, the Pay with GasBuddy card can save you up to 25¢/gal at almost EVERY station in the US. It’s free to sign up, and there’s no credit check required. Card in hand, remember to activate a Deal Alert at the pump to maximize your fuel savings.
