Fredericksburg Police Department issued the following announcement on Nov. 3
On October 31st at approximately 9:45 p.m., Officer Murphy initiated a traffic stop for speeding in the 2300 block of Plank Road. Officer Murphy identified the driver as Christopher Carter. During the interaction, Officer Murphy searched the vehicle after seeing a suspected controlled substance in plain view.
During the search of the vehicle, the following items were located:
- 29g of powdered cocaine
- 25g of “crack” cocaine
- 4g of heroin
- Drug paraphernalia
- Glock 19 with a loaded extended magazine
Christopher Carter, 42, of Fredericksburg was arrested on the following charges:
- Possession with intent to distribute cocaine
- Possession with intent to distribute heroin
- Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
- Possession of a firearm while possessing narcotics with the intent to distribute
- Carrying a concealed weapon
Carter remains incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
