Stafford County recently issued the following announcement.
Stafford County will hold its annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Armed Services Memorial on the Stafford County Government campus. All veterans and the public are invited to join Stafford in recognizing all who have served our country. As well, the ceremony will be streamed on Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/staffordcountygovernment.
The keynote speaker for the ceremony is Cesar Nader. Mr. Nader is the proprietor of a disabled-veteran-owned business in Stafford County and served with the Marines. X Corp Solutions is a cyber security, IT, training and intelligence company. Mr. Nader is an inspiring example of how veterans continue to serve after the completion of military service.
Out of deference to other local observations, Stafford annually holds its Veterans Day ceremony on a day other than Veterans Day. This year, the ceremony is held on November 10, the day the Marine Corps turns 246-years-old. This birthday will be recognized, and there will be special treats recognizing all branches of the armed forces.
The memorial is located on the west side of the campus of the George L. Gordon, Jr., Government Center, 1300 Courthouse Road, Stafford, VA 22554. Due to national delays in shipping, bricks purchased since Veterans Day 2020 have not arrived at this date. If the bricks arrive before November 10, they will be installed and ready for viewing at the ceremony.
