Caroline County Public Schools issued the following announcement on Oct. 27
At the September school board meeting, the board recommended revisiting interest in a virtual option for kindergarten through second grade and allowing for more social distancing in our K-2 classrooms for the second semester. As a follow through CCPS is gathering interest data from parents of kindergarten through second graders.
This form is an interest survey that will be used to gather data from families who would like their child/children in grades K-2 to participate in the Virtual Academy for the second semester of the 2021-2022 school year. The survey does not guarantee enrollment, however, this data will be used to help determine the need of expanding virtual options at the elementary level for the reasons stated above. While this data will not be the sole driver in enrolling students in virtual courses additional criteria will be used should we proceed with expansion. To determine final enrollment in Virtual Academy, we will review 1) attendance, 2) current work habits, 3) achievement in current class/grade.
Please complete one survey for each child enrolled in kindergarten through second grades. In order to maintain consistency and accuracy of the data, previous respondents are required to respond again to this survey. This is an interest survey only, therefore, it does not guarantee enrollment but it does provide data for future planning. The interest survey will also serve as a timestamped list of potential students.
The survey will be open beginning November 1, 2021 at 8AM and will close promptly at 6PM on Monday, November 15, 2021. Interested survey participants will be placed on a potential enrollment list in the order of their response. A recommendation will be presented to the school board on December 13, 2021.
Complete this survey only ONE time per child enrolled in K-2. Click HERE to access the survey or scan the QR code located on the flier.
