Spotsylvania County issued the following announcement on Aug. 26
Businesses and residents living along Route 1, will receive a new street name and possibly numbered address by the first of the year. Effective 1/1/22, Jefferson Davis Highway's name changes at the direction of the General Assembly. The Board of Supervisors passed a resolution 8/24 to change the name to Patriot Highway in Spotsylvania. The Commonwealth Transportation Board must vote on the proposal at an upcoming meeting to make the new name official. More information to come!
