Stafford County Public Schools has announced a partnership with the Rappahannock Area Health Department to provide in-school immunization clinics for rising 7th and 12th graders in preparation for the 2026–27 school year.
According to Stafford County Public Schools, these on-site immunization clinics will be held at select middle and high schools throughout March 2026. The vaccines offered will include Tdap, Meningococcal ACWY (MenACWY), and HPV. These clinics aim to offer a no-cost option for students to meet Virginia’s immunization requirements. Families are required to submit completed consent forms to school nurses by January 30, 2026. Consent forms are available in both English and Spanish, and a notarized religious exemption form may be submitted upon request.
The clinic schedule includes visits to all Stafford County middle schools and several high schools between March 10 and March 26, 2026. Schools such as Gayle, Thompson, Drew, Dixon-Smith, Heim, Wright, Stafford, H.H. Poole, Brooke Point, Stafford High, North Stafford, Mountain View, and Colonial Forge are included in this initiative.
Stafford County Public Schools provides comprehensive health services aimed at supporting student well-being and maintaining a safe school environment. Each school clinic is staffed with a full-time registered nurse; high schools also have a licensed practical nurse available. Nurses conduct health screenings, manage chronic and acute conditions, administer first aid, and communicate with families about health concerns while adhering to guidance from the Virginia Department of Education and the Virginia Department of Health.
The school division serves 32,185 students across its 35 schools and programs within a 280-square-mile area that houses approximately 165,428 residents. It comprises 17 elementary schools, eight middle schools, five high schools, an alternative education program along with two public day school programs and two early childhood education programs. The division is committed to inspiring and empowering every student by preparing them for life after graduation through investments in staff and quality education. Governed by a school board with legal authority over district operations, it is led by Superintendent Daniel W. Smith, Ed.D., who emphasizes values such as integrity, respect, opportunity, and excellence.
