The Chancellor Convenience Center will be closed all day on Wednesday, April 15, and from 8 a.m. to noon on Thursday, April 16, for scheduled maintenance, according to an announcement released on April 6. The center is expected to reopen at noon on April 16 and will then resume its normal operating schedule.
The temporary closure is intended to allow necessary maintenance work at the facility. Residents who rely on the center are advised to plan accordingly for these dates.
Spotsylvania County is home to a single public school district that enrolled a total of 24,064 students during the 2023-24 school year, according to the Virginia Department of Education’s official data. Enrollment in Spotsylvania County schools decreased by about 0.8% compared with the previous year’s total of 24,260 students as reported by the department.
Riverbend High School had the highest enrollment among all schools in Spotsylvania County during this period with a student body of 1,953 students according to state records. Demographic data shows that white students made up the largest ethnic group in county schools at roughly 43.8% or about 10,540 students; Hispanic students were next largest with approximately one quarter of enrollment at around 5,851 students as noted by education officials.
For younger learners in Spotsylvania County during the same academic year, Cedar Forest Elementary School enrolled more pre-kindergarteners than any other school—86 children or nearly one-fifth of all pre-kindergarteners in county schools—while Parkside Elementary School welcomed more kindergarteners than any other elementary campus with an intake of 170 children representing just over ten percent of all kindergartners in local public schools according to state statistics.
